Wrapping up the year

These last few weeks in Reading we began reading our last novel of the year, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We had a lot of fun getting to know the characters and seeing what Charlie’s life is like at the start of this amazing story. We focused on important vocabulary words and discussed questions about clues from the story that help us make inferences.  In Math we learned about making charts using data and fractions. The students created their own graphs and explored making equivalent fractions together.  Also we worked with decimals. In Social Studies we worked hard to finish our beautiful life size brochures. We also finished up in the computer lab making our interactive posters using all of our research.  We are writing in cursive whenever possible from now on and practicing using our spelling words in writing activities!
